Papineauville is a Canadian city in Quebec, capital of the Papineau Regional County Municipality (RCM), in the Outaouais region. Its neighboring municipalities are Saint-André-Avellin to the north, Alfred and Plantagenet to the south, Plaisance to the west, and Montebello to the east.

The municipality of Papineauville was created on November 29, 2000. It was formed from the merger of the village of Papineauville and the former parish municipality of Sainte-Angélique, which gave rise to the municipality of Papineauville. Papineauville owes its name to Denis-Benjamin Papineau (1789-1854), brother of Louis-Joseph, considered the founder of the area around 1850.[1] Its inhabitants are called Papineauvillois and Papineauvilloises. The village of Papineau was established around the 1840s. When the Papineau family established a seigneurial flour mill at the small waterfall of the Saint-Amedée stream, English-speaking forest products traders and artisans settled there, especially since Denis-Bejamin Papineau, who was also a notary and merchant, had opened a post office (the second in the Outaouais region after the one in Hull).

Before the creation of the Papineau RCM in 1983, it was part of Papineau County.
